I see progress - Katy, TX

All of a sudden things seem to be coming together. After a couple of months of planning, the San Antonio house is finally getting close. Thank the dear Lord for Julius and Kimberly. They spent this past week getting it leveled, prepping for paint, repairing all the leaky faucets, having a plumber come and set up for a gas dryer and prepped the walls for the new paint. Lowe's came and measured for the new carpet that will be installed at the end of this week after the painting is done. A busy, busy week.

If any one needs help getting a  house ready to sell or to live in, Julius and Kimberly are brilliant at it. With the baby coming in May, Kimberly is not able to look for a permanent job so she has been working with Julius and I think they have found a great niche. He can repair anything, construct anything and supervise workers like he has been doing it for years [of course he has been doing it for years in Tulsa]. They are going to advertise Patton-of-all-Trades on Craigs List and try to start a business helping people who want to sell their homes prepare and stage their homes to sell faster. It is tough on those who don't know how. Please pray for them as they start this new venture in the Houston Metro Area.

On the Traill side, Tom started his contract with Dresser last week. He will be working 1/2 time for them for a month or two. He was so funny coming home the first day. It sure didn't take him long to remember why he retired [rofl]. Still, it is good to have a little income to pay for all the upgrades we are doing. The sewing room is coming along nicely, but I don't want to throw anything away. That is a killer.

We both lost another two pounds last week so are on track there also. I joined 24 Hour Fitness to get some exercise in and did 2.5 miles on Thursday. That was a miracle. There is a website called Allrecipes.com that has some great diabetic and diet recipes that we have been enjoying.  I found that if I see one I like and scroll down, people have reviewed the recipe and added lots of help and suggestions on cooking and seasoning. Diet food seems so bland and I really like having options. After all I AM one of the Worst Cooks in America, a title I take great pride in.  I made some sugar-free Oatmeal Pecan Cookies that are less than 55 calories and taste awesome.  We have two for breakfast in place of toast. Nice way to start the day.

Hope all of you have a great week.  God Bless and Keep You.

  1. Glad things are coming together. I like the idea of Patton-of-all-Trades. That should work in the Houston market.
