Babies are a gift from God

God has blessed us once again with the birth of our 5th grandchild, Evelyn Lucile Patton on Friday night May 7. Evelyn came in at a whopping 8 lbs. 7 ozs.  Kimberly and baby are doing fine.

Mother's Day has become more and more special to me as my daughters have become mothers themselves.  Motherhood is a special club with emotions and feelings that cannot be comprehended by others. I suppose the same is true of Fatherhood. But that is another post...

I pray for all those mothers out there on this, our special day. May God bless and keep you with His tender watch care.  I am going to see Evelyn now and breath in that special new baby smell... :)

Busy Couple of Months

It has been a long time since I posted. So much has happened and we have been really busy. We renovated the mobile home we own in San Antonio so that we could move into it. Our son-in-law, Julius is a contractor and he and Kimberly did all the work. New carpet, paint, plumbing, A/C and heating system and cleaned it up so nice it looks almost like new.

We moved most of the furniture in it from the Katy house which is now on the market. Tom is living there with an office and a bed, not much else. He was contracting with his old company for 3 months but that is finally over. They asked him to extend but they could not work out the details, so he is totally done and finally feels retired.

I have had a contract in Houston and have been living in a hotel for the past 6 weeks. I have 2 more weeks and then we will both be done with work for a while. We will be in our San Antonio house and hopefully the Katy house will sell soon. Our plan is to leave in early July in our RV for a couple of months. We are not even sure where we are going, we just know we are going!

God has been so good to us getting everything done. The end of our old life is near and our new life is beginning. Someone once told me that God can't give you something new until you let go of the past. We trust and believe that His plans for us are made.

God bless and keep you.
