We spent a joyful week with them at The Orleans and after all the moving, stress of getting the San Antonio house livable and just being tired of making retirement decisions, just enjoyed ourselves. It has been quite a few years since we went to LAS and it has changed so much. The older casinos are gone and new ones have taken their place. The slots, I do love them, have changed with the times as well.
Everywhere you look you see Penny Slots. There are still the older 25 cent Blazing Sevens machines that have only one payline (Tom hit the progressive on one of those the second night we were there) but you really have to look for them. Now is it mostly video games playing anywhere from 9 lines to 50 lines. It is also really deceptive. You could be playing $5 a pull without realizing it. You have to be careful and not just hit Max Bet unless you know how much that is.
Anyway we went all over the Strip visiting different casinos, we went to Hoover Dam and we sat in the Lounge of The Orleans and played pinochle. Lora and I beat Tom and Gary 3 games to 1.
Anyway, it was wonderful being with G & L and it is good to be home. I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. We watched the fireworks over Caesar's Palace from G&L's room. I will check in again soon.
God bless you all and I hope you keep following the Traills.
